Your Donation Will Directly Help a Kitten in Need to Get a Fair Start in Life!

The Humane Society of the United States estimates that the percentage of cats euthanized in shelters is 70%. Of the three million cats and dogs euthanized in shelters each year, approximately 2.4 million, or 80%, are healthy, treatable, and adoptable if given the chance.

Our mission at Orphan Kitten Rescue League is to rescue, raise, and rehome one of the most vulnerable shelter populations: neonatal kittens.

Why Kittens?

Very young kittens are fragile as they cannot regulate their own body temperature, they have no gag reflex, an underdeveloped immune system, and are blind and deaf. Many city shelters and animal control facilities do not have the resources, available space, or trained caregivers to provide the round the clock care that these tiny babies require for survival.

Orphan Kitten Rescue League is an effort to lower the kitten euthanasia rate by pulling or taking in otherwise healthy and adoptable kittens into a network of trained foster caregivers.

We provide:

·veterinary care for each kitten

·a safe space to grow and thrive, free from spreadable disease

·a home environment for early and consistent socialization

·a way to alleviate some of the stress on resources, space, and time for community shelters and intake facilities

·training and support for our volunteers so they can “foster without fear.”

It costs $137 per kitten to provide the resources needed to survive to an adoptable age. Your donation goes directly to the number of kittens we can save per year!
